Gaddafi offers Italy’s finest a job and a lecture on Islam
Nick Squires, Rome September 1, 2010
ITALIANS reacted angrily after Muammar Gaddafi lectured 200 actresses and models on the superiority of Islam, a day after saying that all Europeans should become Muslim.
The Libyan leader recruited the women through a modelling agency to join him and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi at a photographic exhibition in Rome that traced historical links between the two countries.
Telling them that Islam was the ‘‘ultimate religion’‘, Colonel Gaddafi insisted that ‘‘if you want to believe in a single faith, then it must be that of Muhammad’‘
An agency paid the women, mainly students who hire themselves out to advertise publicity events, €70 or €80 ($A99 to $A113) and said it would not pay women who gave their names to the media. It told them to dress conservatively for the lectures.
The two leaders later attended a state dinner following a display of 30 thoroughbred Berber horses imported from Libya.
On Sunday night, during an encounter with 500 young women hired by the same agency, Colonel Gaddafi handed out copies of the Koran and told the women that Europe should convert to Islam.
MPs said Mr Berlusconi’s increasingly close relationship with the Libyan leader was a source of embarrassment.
‘‘If I went to Tripoli to demand that Libyans convert to Christianity, what are the odds that I would return in one piece?’‘ said Rocco Buttiglione, the president of a centre-right Catholic party, the UDC.
Rosy Bindi, an MP from the main opposition party, said the spectacle of hundreds of women being bussed in at Colonel Gaddafi’s ‘‘whim’’ was a ‘‘humiliating violation’’ of their dignity.
Ties between Rome and its former colony have deepened since the signing of the friendship accord, with Italy now the third largest European investor in the North African country.
Italy plans to invest $US5 billion ($A5.5 billion) and build a 1700-kilometre highway to compensate for its decades of colonisation from 1911 to 1943.
The two countries also reached an agreement that allows the Italian navy to intercept migrants at sea and return them to Libya, triggering sharp criticism from the United Nations refugee agency and human rights groups.
Colonel Gaddafi travelled, as usual, with a Bedouin tent for his accommodation, which was pitched in the gardens of the residence of the Libyan embassy in Rome.
In a sign of protest, an opposition party planted a ‘‘tent of legality’’ in front of the embassy.

It’s food for thought, although I’m a little wary of its orientation.
Money trail links the war on terrorism to the global financial crisis Loretta Napoleoni

.American combat troops have headed home from Iraq, leaving behind a democracy without a government and an ethnically divided nation. In Afghanistan, the Taliban continue to advance and Osama bin Laden is still at large.
Far from winning the ‘‘war on terror’‘, the US and its closest allies are broke. Plagued by overwhelming debts and suffering from the worst recession since 1929, these countries now live in fear the ratings agencies will downgrade their economies. Is there a link between these events? To answer, we need to revisit bin Laden’s theory that September 11 would inflict a mortal blow on the US economy. Though the attack did negligible damage to Wall Street, George W. Bush’s response set in motion a chain of negative events. The Patriot Act, introduced a few weeks after the destruction of the twin towers, failed to curb terrorist financing but it did prompt a massive flight from the dollar: fearing prosecution, Muslim investors repatriated investments worth $US1 trillion.
Then, to avoid the scrutiny of US authorities, banks suggested their clients switch from dollar to euro investments. Finally, criminal and terrorist organisations relocated most of their money laundering activities from the US mainland to Europe.
By December 2001, these events caused global demand for dollars to shrink, reducing the value of the greenback. In 1993, Dick Cheney clearly stated the neocon desire to relaunch America’s world hegemony.
Ironically, the ‘‘war on terror’’ provided a much-sought-after opportunity to achieve this desire. Regime change in Iraq was deemed necessary to secure a friendly base at the heart of a strategically important region. To raise funds to finance such an ambitious military adventure, the Bush administration tapped the international capital market by selling billions of dollars worth of treasury bonds in a few years. To make the US debt competitive, the Federal Reserve progressively slashed interest rates, which fell from 6 per cent on the eve of September 11 to 1.2 per cent by mid-2003, when Washington thought it had won the war in Iraq following the initial invasion. The then-chairman of the US Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, went along with this strategy even though the world economy was growing too fast and needed higher rates to prevent the formation of financial bubbles.
For over a decade, lowering interest rates had become instrumental in counteracting the recurrent economic crises of globalisation - such as the rouble and the Asian crises - and September 11 triggered a mini-recession in the Western world. This policy of lower interest rates never solved the underlying problems. It merely hid them until the next crisis.
If the White House and the Federal Reserve had paid attention to the signs of an overheating globalised economy - the booming housing market and the growing indebtedness of the 1990s - things would have been different. Possibly, the world would have avoided the serious economic crisis in which it finds itself today.
The steep fall in US and world interest rates between 2001 and 2003 created the ideal conditions for the spread of the subprime mortgage crisis and for the securitisation of bad debts - the genesis of the credit crunch. That policy precipitated the bankruptcy of Iceland, a country that accumulated a debt 12 times the size of its gross domestic product, and the solvency crisis of Greece.
Wall Street monoliths such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan took advantage of declining interest rates to allow countries, as well as corporations and individuals, to live beyond their means. Naturally, in the process, they pocketed large sums of money.
Washington’s fixation with military intervention also prevented the formulation of an effective policy to thwart terrorist financing, which nobody ever regarded as a real priority. European countries, which had long-standing experience in counter-terrorism, went along with this folly.
They could not even reach an agreement on regulating offshore facilities until the recession shrank tax revenues, prompting finance ministers to go after tax evaders.
This is how Europeans learned that since September 11 their continent had become the global epicentre of money laundering, thanks principally to several joint ventures between Italian organised crime and the cocaine barons of Latin America.
While fighting America’s ‘‘war on terror’‘, the world changed dramatically: the West spent money it did not have to fight a war which had nothing to do with bringing Osama bin Laden to justice; to fund this war, America fuelled a massive financial bubble which eventually exploded; from Latin America, narco-business reached Europe via west Africa, thanks to a new joint venture with armed organisations such as al-Qaeda in the Maghreb; and the Taliban successfully tapped into the heroin trade, using it to fund its war on coalition forces. The interdependency between terrorism and the global economy goes well beyond the credit crunch, the recession and the euro crisis. Since September 11 it has been extending the boundaries of a shadow world which threatens to replace our own if we do not break away from the legacy of the ‘‘war on terror’‘. Bringing the troops home is not enough; we need to focus on the true target of this war, on the lifeline of terrorism - we need to focus on the money.
Loretta Napoleoni is author of Terrorism and the Economy: How the War on Terror is Bankrupting the World, and speaks tonight at the Sydney Ideas lecture series at the University of Sydney.
One wonders why any country in the World, which is not Islamic, would want Muslims coming to live in their society, with their avowed agenda to take over the world with their backward religion .. and force others to do so also.
It seems crazy to accept many of them on that account. They dont change it seems, when the go to other countries. This is a recaltricitrant culture.
They have a bad record wherever they migrate, generally. (I have figures to support this in France, which really has been hit hard by them, and they cost that country heaps to maintain them)
They probably cost Australia heaps too. The USA has been bankrupted almost, fighting them in their countries. What a pest this mob really have been to the world.
And, if this assessment is not true, or doesn’t apply to individual Muslims, then there should be some public statement made, by them, to say that they want to contribute to the non-Muslim country they now live in.
(I cant see any reason for them to retain the bad parts of their culture, when they have for some reason left a Muslim country which was disfunctional in some way for them.)
PS: I know I am in for some flak for saying these things, but point out where I (and other observers) am in error, and don’t just say I am being unfair to Muslims in general.
Fair criticism of behaviour, is fair criticism, where it generally seems to apply truly.

So many ‘nice and trusting’ westerners know nothing about the real Islam. I have been researching this subject for over a decade now - and have a copy of an article called “Preserving The Islamic Identity in The West” that was removed about 2003 ) from the MAIN SYDNEY Islamic website .. not just an obscure ratbag group… after complaints during the close scrutiny of Islamic anti West propaganda statements etc in the years following 9/11.
This article was published in the 18th issue of Nida’ul Islam magazine (http://www.islam.org.au) ( NO LONGER at that domain ) in April - May 1997 - so it appeared on that Sydney based site for about 6 years. ( if anyone wants a copy of the article, just PM me with your email address. )
There are several pages to the article, but I will just post the concluding paragraph :
Finally there is a solution guaranteed to remove the risks, and that is to remove oneself from amongst the disbelievers.
It is therefore unavoidable that as long as we live here we will, through a process of cultural osmosis, take on some of the characteristics of the Kuffar. The likeness of Islam and Kuffar is like that of fresh clear spring water and water brought up from the bottom of a suburban sewer. If even a drop of the filthy water enters the clear water, the clarity diminishes. Likewise it only takes a drop of the filth of disbelief to contaminate Islam in the West. If we have it within our means we should therefore consider moving to a Muslim land whereby we can at least live amongst our brethren and within an Islamic society free from the contamination of the disbelievers.
Sobering words - especially to the unwary.
[ Edited: 02 September 2010 10:52 AM by Kevin Goddard]
Doesn’t the Koran itself provide enough concern? The sphere of ‘peace’ (Islam) and their obligations regarding the conquest of the sphere of ‘war’. (Us non-muslims?)
Then there’s the 14 storey mosque being built particularly close to ground zero - scheduled to be opened Sep 11 next year, I think . This gives *gesture of peace* a new meaning.
I find it disturbing that people seem to be in denial about the obvious, for political correctness, or out of fear perhaps. I’d hoped we (the west?) would have more backbone.
Hmmm, not sure how concerned I am about that particular one. It’s more the legislative agenda changes like allowing certain public swimming pools to be ‘Moslem men only’ that I find unusual… not sure if that particular threatened story ever happened.
But yeah, these are my so far unconvinced thoughts on the WTC Mosque.
1. It’s not ‘particularly near’ but about 2 blocks away.
2. It’s just a mosque with a swimming pool. What’s the big deal?
So if this is a continuation of the terrorist agenda as claimed, it’s been a peculiar plan, and Bin Laden must have started by telling his followers: “First we will destroy their buildings — and then, oo it’s so deliciously evil, we will get people to swim near to where the buildings were … mwaHAHAHAHAHA.”
It’s symbolic of conquest. Symbols are powerful.
How Christians ought to respond is another question.
Having read some of the Koran it does seem there are verses to encourage theocratic rule in that book. So the place of Islam in modern democracies remains an interesting question!
I’m inclined to think Islam and modern democracies are fundamentally incompatible.
There’s certainly evidence from Islam that some consider Muslims *need* an Islamic state to live as *faithful* Muslims.
Finally there is a solution guaranteed to remove the risks, and that is to remove oneself from amongst the disbelievers.
It is therefore unavoidable that as long as we live here we will, through a process of cultural osmosis, take on some of the characteristics of the Kuffar. ...
If we have it within our means we should therefore consider moving to a Muslim land whereby we can at least live amongst our brethren and within an Islamic society free from the contamination of the disbelievers.
The Muslims in Australia that I’ve talked to have said that they are under compulsion to try to establish an Islamic state here, but that they will do that only through the peaceful democratic process, but showing us Aussies that we’d be better off under an Islamic state. Much the same as Christians often do too.
I think the more “extreme” Muslims would not be comfortable living in western countries, and so we only come into contact with the more relaxed ones.
What is more problematic are attempts to bring in Sharia law alongside our traditional judicial systems.
I don’t find that particularly reassuring, Dannii.
While the majority of Muslims don’t seem actively committed to trying to establish an Islamic state, it shows that they seem to agree with that agenda, however much on the back-burner it may be for them.
The Muslims in Australia that I’ve talked to have said that they are under compulsion to try to establish an Islamic state here, but that they will do that only through the peaceful democratic process, but showing us Aussies that we’d be better off under an Islamic state. Much the same as Christians often do too.
If an Islamic state is, as I think, incompatible with democracy, that means they would (if this were to happen) use our democratic process to effectively get rid of democracy, imposing Islamic rule instead.
I wonder what they mean by ‘showing us we’d be better off under an Islamic state’? It seems very open to interpretation.
I think it’s significantly different from what Christians do. Christianity is not theocratic, whereas Islam is. While we seek to influence government with Christian values, as is our democratic right, we maintain freedom of religion and separation of church and state. This reflects the difference between the rule and reign of Christ, which is not through earthly kingdoms; and how they believe Allah should “rule”.
I think the more “extreme” Muslims would not be comfortable living in western countries, and so we only come into contact with the more relaxed ones.
For this reason, we lack insight into the more extreme types. At least some of these are not happy with the “relaxed” or “compromising” attitude.
What is more problematic are attempts to bring in Sharia law alongside our traditional judicial systems.
I would think replacing our traditional judicial systems with Sharia law would be problematic as well - and surely that is part of their goal?

From correspondents in Paris From: AFP September 05, 2010
SAKINEH Mohammadi-Ashtiani, an Iranian woman sentenced to death by stoning for adultery, has also been sentenced to 99 lashes for a photo published of her without a headscarf, according to her son.
In an interview published on the website of the French magazine La Regle du Jeu and the blog Dentelles et Tchador, Mohammadi-Ashtiani’s son Sajjad said they learned of the new punishment from released inmates.
He said that a prison judge confirmed that she was to be lashed for spreading “corruption and indecency” by the publication of a photograph of her without a headscarf that appeared in a British newspaper.
The Times of London published on August 28 a photo of a woman without a headscarf that it said was Mohammadi-Ashtiani, however on September 3 it said the attribution of the photo, which it received from one of her lawyers that has fled Iran, was incorrect.
The photo “... is certainly not that of my mother”, said Sajjad.
Mohammadi-Ashtiani, a 43-year-old mother of two, was given the death penalty for an extramarital relationship.
Iran has subsequently said she was also convicted of being an accomplice in her husband’s death, though she has denied that was the case.
Her plight has prompted protests in Europe and an international campaign to spare her. Tehran has provisionally suspended the death sentence
Islam is a totalitarian political system. Islam believes it was created to rule the world, similar to its early conquests.
This site The Agenda of Islam may help us to understand. It is written from an Israeli point of view, and they know all about Islam, I believe.
Cease-fire as a Tactical Choice
What makes Islam accept cease-fire? Only one thing — when the enemy is too strong. It is a tactical choice.
Sometimes, he may have to agree to a cease-fire in the most humiliating conditions. It’s allowed because Mohammed accepted a cease-fire under humiliating conditions. That’s what Arafat said to them in Johannesburg.
When western policy makers hear these things, they answer, “What are you talking about? You are in the Middle Ages. You don’t understand the mechanisms of politics.”
Which mechanisms of politics? There are no mechanisms of politics where power is. And I want to tell you one thing — we haven’t seen the end of it, because the minute a radical Moslem power has atomic, chemical, or biological weapons, they will use it. I have no doubt about that.
Now, since we face war and we know that we cannot get more than an impermanent cease-fire, one has to ask himself what is the major component of an Israeli/Arab cease-fire. It is that the Islamic side is weak and your side is strong. The relations between Israel and the Arab world in the last 50 years since the establishment of our State has been based only on this idea, the deterrent power.
Wherever You Have Islam, You Will Have War
The reason that we have what we have in Yugoslavia and other places is because Islam succeeded in entering these countries. Wherever you have Islam, you will have war. It grows out of the attitude of Islamic civilization.
What are the poor people in the Philippines being killed for? What’s happening between Pakistan and India?
Islamic Infiltration
Furthermore, there is another fact that must be remembered. The Islamic world has not only the attitude of open war, but there’s also war by infiltration.
Islam and Territory
This civilization created one very important, fundamental rule about territory. Any territory that comes under Islamic rule cannot be de-Islamized. Even if at one time or another, the [non-Moslem] enemy takes over the territory that was under Islamic rule, it is considered to be perpetually Islamic.
This is why whenever you hear about the Arab/Israeli conflict, you hear — territory, territory, territory. There are other aspects to the conflict, but territory is highly important.
The Christian civilization has not only been seen as a religious opponent, but as a dam stopping Islam from achieving its final goal for which it was created.
Islam was created to be the army of God, the army of Allah. Every single Moslem is a soldier in this army. Every single Moslem that dies in fighting for the spread of Islam is a shaheed (martyr) no matter how he dies, because — and this is very important — this is an eternal war between the two civilizations. It’s not a war that stops. This war is there because it was created by Allah. Islam must be the ruler. This is a war that will not end.
American pastor Terry Jones vows to hold national Koran burning event
From:AFP September 08, 2010
THE pastor of a small Florida church has promised to hold a Koran burning in defiance of a top US commander who warned his actions will spark violent reactions in the Islamic world.
Terry Jones said he had given “serious” consideration to the concerns expressed by US commander General David Petraeus over plans to torch the Koran, but remained adamant the event would proceed anyway.
Pastor Jones, who heads the Dove World Outreach Centre in the town of Gainesville, said the burning would take place to mark the September 11 terror attacks and would send a message to Muslim extremists.
“We are taking the general’s words very serious,” he said before noting he had “firmly made up his mind” to go ahead with burning the Muslim holy book.
“I mean, how long, when does America stand for truth?” he asked..
“Instead of us being blamed for what other people will do or might do, why don’t we send a warning to them?
“Why don’t we send a warning to radical Islam and say, don’t do it. If you attack us, if you attack us, we will attack you,” he said.
In a statement, Gen Petraeus, who is the US commander of the Afghan war, expressed concern that the planned torching of the Koran would be a propaganda coup for Islamic extremists.
But the pastor insisted that the Koran torching to be held on Saturday aimed “to remember those who were brutally murdered on September 11th” and to send a warning “to the radical element of Islam”.
“We wanted to send a very clear message to them that we are not interested in their Sharia law,” he said.
“And we do not tolerate their threats, their fear, their radicalness. We live in the United States of America.”
The pastor’s words sparked violent protest in the Afghan capital of Kabul where hundreds turned out to burn an effigy of the outspoken Christian during a demonstration.
Protesters railed against the US and called for President Barack Obama’s death before denouncing the American church’s plans to burn the Islamic holy book.
Independent US churches - why do they attract all the nutters ?
Two Algerian men face up to two years in jail after they were arrested for allegedly eating in the middle of the day during the holy month of Ramadan.
Police picked up the young men in a restaurant in the Bejaya province, east of the capital Algiers, after neighbours complained of the alleged public desecration of the Islamic faith’s ban on eating during daylight in the holy month, The Jerusalem Post reported yesterday.
The young men face up to two years in prison if convicted. Charges were presented against the group on Monday but the court delayed its verdict until early November.
Human rights groups have decried the move, saying the men had not committed any crime and that observing the daylight fast during Ramadan was a “personal matter”.
Mouloud Benkadoum, a lawyer representing the owner of the restaurant, said his client had not violated any laws. “The police entered an establishment where the curtain was closed,” he told the French language Algerian Al-Watan newspaper.
“My client didn’t serve anyone food. He was cleaning his restaurant and the cooking equipment in preparation for opening in the evening.”
There is no law in Algeria prohibiting eating on Ramadan, only one banning “mocking Ramadan”, said Moustafa Bouchachi, President of the Algerian League for the Defence of Human Rights. “The prosecutor has implemented the law improperly, and therefore the last man still arrested in the case was released yesterday.”
Mr Bouchachi said Algerian police had arrested four young men on similar charges two years ago but that the men were subsequently released. He added that people are sometimes arrested for eating in public places, but rarely for doing so in a closed restaurant.
“We believe that this lawsuit is unfounded,” Mr Bouchachi said. “The Algerian constitution prescribes freedom of religion, so we think this is an affront to people’s basic right, which we condemn.”
Anyone else see last night’s Foreign Correspondent on the Mavi Marmara? (The ‘aid’ ship that was aimed at busting the Gaza blockade, and was boarded by Israelis, who badly underestimated the resistance, resulting in violence and loss of life). Very good program, I thought.
Those on the boat were a mixture of ‘idealists’ and militants, yet the militants took over. Even among the militants, some were more keen, it seemed, on bloodshed; others wanted to minimise bloodshed.
It seems to me this ‘mixed’ approach is part of the Islamist MO.
I heard on the radio he’d claimed to have negotiated for the controversial mosque complex to be built further away from ground zero in exchange for not burning the Koran. The Imam building the mosque said he knew nothing of this.
edit ps. Oh I see. that was in the smh too.
The radio bulletin was a bit fuller on the supposed deal - the rogue pastor had had some contact with another Imam who supposedly would be able to put him into contact with the NYC Imam, but he (middle-man Imam) was vague about specifics.

I really believe it is the duty of leaders of the Western World to inform people of the nature and dangers inherent in Islam.
The present system of appeasement and cowardice in respect of telling the truth only hurts Muslims and other non-Muslims ultimately.
President Obama said that America has a system of freedom of religion, and that is a good reason to censure the burning of the Koran.
I think the burning of the Koran is a misled stunt. But, Obama should realise that Islam is not just a religion. It is a warring culture with bad politics for non Muslims worldwide. Muslims do not just seek, according their Koran, peaceful existence, allowing others to have peace as well. They seek to take over the world despite the desires on other religions or non-religions.
Let people know of the atrocities committed by Muslims in Islamic countries against non-muslims, especially Christians and Jews these days. There is no tolerance in todays Muslim world. So why should we simply bend over for them in Western countries?
They are the enemies of Christ and God himself, although they think they are doing God’s will. They are a misguided sect, which needs to be clearly exposed to all the non-Muslim world.
Are you listening World? Please don’t listen to the foolish liberal do-gooders, who will bring the western world undone by their misguided bleeting.
The Q’uran burning pastor is a trouble maker and something of a jerk. I suspect his supposed deal is nothing more than a face saver in the context of heavy pressure to relent.
I think constant assumptions that all Muslims are the same ie; warlike, are gross generalisations, foolish, uninformed and, because they are generalisations, they are also untrue.
Built into such statements are a raft of assumptions that crumble under scrutiny.
eg; that our nation is Christian.
That Christianity is somehow the same as “us” and that since our religeon is a religeon of peace, so we are a people of peace.
Generalisations are dangerous, often meaningless but useful for inciting hatred, vilification and conflict.
Generalisations are dangerous, often meaningless but useful for inciting hatred, vilification and conflict.
Yes that is true - and also so well practised by those on the “other” side as well. This Jones guy’s church is referred to by one of his kid’s as a cult - therefore he’s a ‘nutter’, which most folk knew already. But WHY do we suddenly have an outbreak of hate and flag burning appearing on our TV screens ? Because there are many ( easily led, I would suggest ) Muslims around the globe ( especially where there is only ONE media available ) where there are “constant assumptions that all Westerners are the same etc etc”. It really is a matter of perspective - out of kilter as it is. Truly sad all round, isn’t it ?
Oh I agree. generalisations on wither side are pervasive and are lies.
No worries.
I wonder if feeding their generalisations by promulgating our own is wise?
True followers of Mohammad, following the Qu’ran will be warlike, seeking world domination.
Many muslims are peaceful on the face of it, but inside them is the culture of Islam which is not peaceful. These people are more concerned in day to day living and are therefore not a threat. But they dont follow the decrees of Islam by living so.
The familiar term jihad, often translated holy war, literally means struggle. Many Muslims emphasize that jihad is about struggling against evil desires and, if necessary, defending one’s homeland and religious heritage. “Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not attack them first. God does not love the aggressors. Slay them wherever you find them. Drive them out of the places from which they drove you. Idolatry is more grievous than bloodshed…. Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God’s religion reigns supreme.” (Qur’an 2:190-192) [Note: Qur’anic quotes from N.J.Dawood’s English translation (The Koran, Penguin Books, UK, 1993)]. A favorite verse of moderate Muslims is 2:256 which says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. True guidance is now distinct from error.” Militant Muslims, however, will point you to numerous Qur’anic texts where Muhammad (as Allah’s spokesman) commands his followers to fight and subdue all who resist Islam. What leads young men to volunteer to die for the privilege of killing others “for the cause of Allah”? Could it have something to do with the fact that Islam offers no certain hope of heaven to any of its adherents, with one exception? Consider these few Qur’anic verses…
“As for those who are slain in the cause of God, He will not allow their works to perish. ... He will admit them to the Paradise He has made known to them.” (47:4-6)
“Let those who would exchange the life of this world for the hereafter, fight for the cause of God; whether he dies or triumphs, We shall richly reward him. ... The true believers fight for the cause of God, but the infidels fight for the devil. Fight then against the friends of Satan ...” (4:74,76)
“The believers who stay at home––apart from those that suffer a grave impediment––are not the equals of those who fight for the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God has given those that fight with their goods and their persons a higher rank than those who stay at home ...” (4:95,96)
“Slay the idolaters wherever you find them. ... lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy, allow them to go their way ...” (9:5)
“Those that make war against God and His apostle and spread disorder in the land shall be put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, or be banished from the land. They shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter: except those that repent before you reduce them ...” (5:34,35)
“Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme” (8:39)
“Prophet, rouse the faithful to arms. If there are twenty steadfast men among you, they shall vanquish two hundred; and if there are a hundred, they shall rout a thousand unbelievers, for they are devoid of understanding.” (8:65)
“Fight against such of those to whom the Scriptures were given ... and do not embrace the true Faith, until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.” (9:29)
It is not Muslims who are to be censured personally, it is Islam which needs to be exposed to the world. Political leaders who sugar over what Islam actually represents, are not giving their people the truth, and are exposing them to strife ultimately. Knowledge is power, and truth is necessary.
Islam is not a peaceful religion, and is medieval in its concepts. It is a religion designed to wage war against non-muslims, despite some of its followers appearing normal to others.

Don’t you ever get tired of telling folks how wrong they are Ken?
Don’t you ever get sick of having to pronounce how whole groups are evil, dangerous, wrong or whatever?
Do you find it hard living in a world you have divided up into OK and not OK/
Owen, you are as predicable as the sun coming up in the morning, mate. Most liberals are similar. I expect no more from you really, and I dont worry about what you think.
If you bother to read things, you will see that is is not people I condemn, it is a bad political/religious/cultural sect.
If you dont see the fanatical side of Islam as a danger to the world, you have your head stuck in the sand.
I should let such comments go through to the keeper, really.
