What?! Biblical Evidence proving God is Evil-Part One ?!

There are some interesting points to look at, we might need to address when we face those questions.

If God is evil, which also indiciate that God does exist.

Yep he does exist. No matter God is good or evil”

You talk to the powerful God with no respect at all and think you are more justice than God.

You better read the whole bible again

[ Edited: 26 August 2009 06:17 PM by Ray Lau]

How could God possibly be evil if he sent Jesus to die for our sins?  God could have easily just let things be on that count.

What is evil anyway?

The nature of goodness rests in the nature of the Supreme Being (aka the triune God).  To call the Supreme being evil is a nonsense.  Evil is that which opposes the Supreme Being.  (In Christian language, sin is rebellion against God.)

This man seems to rest the nature of goodness in the nature of mankind.  (He doesn’t say so explicitly, or probably even realise it.)  Thus, to him, what is evil is that which opposes (or hurts) man.  Scary.  But it’s an idea which has gained a lot of traction, although I don’t think people have properly thought out the implications.  Kind of makes my head spin.

Mmm, reading the Bible without attempting to understand it! :) Is there anything better than that?

Samuel one is a good example

David had an affair with someone’s wife because of that she got pergnant; then David sent the husband of that woman to front line battle, make sure he got kill.
God said to David in 2 Smuel 12:11
11 “This is what the LORD says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity upon you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’ ”

Then it fullfiled at 2 Smuel 16:20
20 Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give us your advice. What should we do?”
21 Ahithophel answered, “Lie with your father’s concubines whom he left to take care of the palace. Then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself a stench in your father’s nostrils, and the hands of everyone with you will be strengthened.” 22 So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he lay with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
—————————————————————————————————————-
My question is why God let David’s wives got raped to punish David’s fault? Speaking as an individual view, we feel sorry about those women’s rapped experience.
(I am not sure, did they actually got rapped or those women were willing to have sex with Absalom? Given in this sceanario, I assume they got rapped as the video said)

My thoughts:
The rape of these women is not presented in the Bible as a good thing, but evil.  What has happened is there is trouble within David’s family, which is explained as a consequence of his own sin.  It is sad but true that our sins often bring evil consequences to those closest to us.
The Old Testament way of writing presents everything as from God, even evil, in this case.  Hence “out of your own household I am giong to bring calamity” This, I think, is to emphasise God’s sovereignty.  But the evil actions were Absolom’s, not God’s.
This then raises the question of why a good and sovereign God allows evil.  But that is a different question.

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

Job 1:21-22

Why our sins often bring evil consequences to those closest to us rather than individual?

It was an observation from life.  My sins will often affect my family. ‘Evil consequences’ is a more extreme situation, I suppose.  But not rather than the individual; the individual will also experience consequences, I would say.  Why?  I can see how, but why?  Perhaps because we’re not merely individuals, but relationship and community is an essential part of our existence…..
